Lunaris Eclipse Wall Sconce

The Lunaris Eclipse Wall Sconce from Dune & Ash sets a solid disc in front of a lit ring, so the light escapes around the edge as a crescent. It is the moment of an eclipse held still on a wall, and it works as much as an object in daylight as it does as a light at night.

The front disc is what makes it. It hides the light source completely, so there is no glare from any angle and what you see is a thin bright arc rather than a lamp. Light spills out behind the disc onto the wall as well, which gives the fitting a halo and makes a dark wall read as deliberate rather than gloomy. Ten combinations of size and finish are available, in 20cm and 25cm.

It is a hard wired fitting, so unless there is a point on that wall already it is worth handing to an electrician. Switch off at the wall before cleaning and wipe the metal with a dry cloth.
