Ribbed Glass Mushroom Bedside Lamp

The Ribbed Glass Mushroom Bedside Lamp from Dune & Ash is the shape that keeps coming back: a rounded dome over a short stem, in ribbed glass that breaks the light as it passes through. It reads as a piece from a 1970s living room rather than something bought last week, which is most of the appeal.

The ribbing is what does the work. Light hits the flutes at different angles, so the shade glows unevenly and warmly instead of as a flat lit panel, and the same texture hides fingerprints better than smooth glass. The dome throws light downward and outward, which puts a pool on a bedside table for reading without shining across a room. The base is weighted low so the lamp sits firm when a cable is pulled. It comes in two colour options.

It plugs into a standard socket with an inline switch on the cord, so there is nothing to install and no electrician needed. Wipe the glass with a soft dry cloth and unplug it before cleaning. Let the bulb cool fully before handling it, and check the wattage rating on the base before fitting a replacement.

Plug type. This lamp is supplied with an Australian plug. If you are ordering from outside Australia you will need a plug adapter, and you should check the fitting suits your local supply before use.
